“I don’t know where to start…..”
• Many employers provide Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) please consult with your
benefits administrator regarding these helpful free services.
• 211 is a referral resource for substance use and mental health services in your area.
• Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress in Bartholomew County (ASAP) has many resources
including self help and support groups for substance use recovery. Please visit ASAPbc.org for
more information.
Take care of yourself for better mental health
• Eat well, sleep well, and exercise.
• Check in with family, friends, and counselors. Maintain healthy relationships.
• Find healthy ways to relax- meditation, prayer, walking, all promote stress reduction.
Be aware of the suicide warning signs:
• Feeling hopeless
• Talking, writing or posting about killing oneself or hurting oneself
• Looking for access to methods to kill oneself
• Feeling or seeking revenge
• Engaging in risky behaviors including substance use
• Feeling trapped or there’s no way out
• Withdrawing from friends and family
• Sleep disturbances: too much or too little
• Dramatic mood changes

Program Services: The Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) is a voluntary, home-visitation program for first time Medicaid mothers and their children. NFP pairs a nurse (RN) with a family starting no later than 28 weeks of pregnancy, through the child’s second birthday. Nurses are able to identify incremental steps the mother can take to improve her personal life course and to build self-efficacy. Nurses visit new mothers approximately nine times during pregnancy and approximately 23 times post-partum. This program is completely free.

Clarity Pregnancy Services

Program Services: Clarity offers confidential pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and the Baby & Me Tobacco Free, a program the helps moms quit smoking by providing cessation counseling and diaper vouchers, if they test tobacco free. The program begins during the prenatal period and continues monthly until the baby reaches a year. A smoker who lives with the pregnant woman can also enroll into the program and if successfully quits smoking, may be eligible to receive diaper vouchers during the postpartum period.

Healthy Families is a home-based service designed to support families in preparing for and adjusting to a new baby. Services are free, voluntary and confidential.
